I wont be showing you how to use adobe photoshop like adding multiple pictures and dealing with layers and flatting pics cause that'll take all night. I'll simply post a link (once i've found one) to a photoshop tutorial.
Step 1: Ok well to start things off you'll need 2 programs adobe photoshop (any version) and a program called Wally (1.55b or up).
*I strongly recommend using adobe photoshop to create ur design!
Step 2: Once you've gotten adobe photo shop installed just open it up and load ur picture(s) for Wally users create open up ur picture and play around with it by adding tool brush drawings and other titles. Try to keep ur pictures focused on a couple of objects especially adobe users because you'll be resizing it and changing it into 16-bit or 8-bit i forget! u may also use paint (also dont recommend it) and any other picture editors out there or just use any picture that u have for a basic spray.
Step 3: Once youve gotten ur logo design done in either adobe photo shop or Wally remember to save.
Step 4: Now for some math (ps was never good at anything pas the basics so no posting on how to do ur homework, prolly dont know or dont care): ur width x height must be lees than or equal to *10,752*
also your width and height lengths must *be a multiple of 16* (ex 16x16, 64x64, 16x64, 112x80...) to change this select adjust canvas size (sizes are in pixels~~ not cm or inches or any other measurement).
Step 5: Now you should have a .jpeg picture of ur creation saved (ps i know it looks small dont worry ur doing it rite) now open up Wally, if you did ur pic in Wally using its weak picture tools which i didnt recommend to do; u'd have Wally opened already just save ur picture like the people in adobe did and resize it like in step 4. Now with Wally open the wizard drop down button and select HL Colour Decal. Where It says please select the your half-life folder just select ur desktop cause keep in mind this prog was originally set up for cs 1.5, but dont worry theres just one extra step to get it into cs 1.6. Now select file on hard drive and locate ur picture (dont check the "let me edit" button cause ur picture is already done resizing if u followed step 4.
Step 6: Now you see ur picture, the bigger one, is what people will see and yes it will appear much clearer when spraying it in cs. I've noticed that the picture seems to be much brighter then anticipated so what you would want to do is close the .wad don't save the .wad yet and make ur picture darker with adobe or Wally by opening ur picture up and adjusting the brightness and contrast controls. Once you've made it much darker repeat step 5.
Step 7: Now with ur picture there you'll see 2 boxes one that says pldecal and one that says logo close the logo box so that only the pldecal box is open. Click on file save as tempdecal.wad (make sure you save it in that name) to a folder where you wont delete in (ex not ur cs folder, just a folder like ur picture folder or cs backups, or fun stuff...).
Step 8: Close Wally and adobe you dont need those progs open ne more. Once youve got ur pldecal.wad in some folder copy it not *cut* (youll find out y soon enough) and copy it into this folder in this path:
C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\YOUR@EMAIL.com\counter-strike\cstrike
and replace the tempdecal.wad with the one you made. Bang it should show up the next time you spray ur spray in cs.
Step 9: Keeping your spray up there! I've heard that some people can't see there spray and get a yellow hl default spray instead if u followed all my steps this shouldnt happen. Other reasons besides goofing up The server that ur on has disable custom sprays some servers do this t prevent lag spikes or dont want there players to be distracted if ya know what i mean. to correct these either join another server or continue to play there. Lastly *DO NOT* go into the cs options menu! this will cause steam to automatically change ur tempdecal.wad back to the default from the steam cache causing you to do this all over again if you didnt save it some where else like i suggested. If that happens where ever you saved it like in step 7 just copy not cut it back to the folder in step 8. Also Ive been told that by changing your tempdecal.wad to read-only in the properties window prevents it from getting deleted, when browsing the cs options menu.
Step 10: Enjoy Your New Model and experiment with adobe photoshop to make your spray/logo even better then before. Yes i will make sprays for torx members only if they want me to just drop me an email with ur designs text and pictures that u have or would like and Ill try my best (ps not a pro)
Wow this took so long to type might have alotta sp mistakes but thats ok!
